Outwood Grange and North Doncaster Technology College - Becoming Academies

Welcome to the website for the proposed Academies

It is proposed to close two schools and open two new Academies, one in Doncaster and one in Wakefield.
The work to change the schools is underway, with the Academies due to open in time for the new Academic year in September 2009.

Each Academy will maintain the current Admissions policy for each school. There will be not be any selection.

The catchment areas will not change

The school uniform will change. The majority of costs of changing the uniform will be covered by the Academies

The Wakefield Academy is sponsored by Outwood Grange College. Wakefield City Metropolitan District Council is a partner in this project.

The Doncaster Academy is sponsored by Outwood Grange College and co-sponsored by Doncaster Metropolitan Borough Council.

The Academies will be independent schools, each governed by a trust, whose members will include representatives of the sponsor, the local authority in which the Academy is located, parents and staff.
